What does the Board do?
The Chairman, Chairman Elect, Treasurer and up to 12 Trustees form the Management Board. As directors of the corporate charitable Society it is their responsibility to lead and direct the RSCDS throughout the year. The Board’s directors are responsible for, amongst other things:
- Ensuring compliance with charitable and corporate legislation
- Determining the strategy for the achievement of the charitable objectives
- Preparation of the annual financial statements and trustees report
How do I join?
In order to join the Management Board, you must first be a member of the RSCDS (either an HQ member or RSCDS Branch member). We are currently seeking nominations from members who have a diverse range of skills and abilities to support the Society and help us achieve and develop our strategic aims, "To grow a vibrant worldwide community of Scottish Dance and Music".
Current vacancies
If you wish to nominate yourself (or encourage any other suitable members to put themselves forward) then the deadline for nominations is Saturday 12 September 2020. Elections for the Management Board and each Committee are held at our Annual General Meeting during the first weekend of November.
