Get ready to Jig your way into a ready-made, worldwide network of dancers
This year jump right in to the high energy, sociable world of Scottish Country Dancing (SCD)! Maybe you have already experienced some traditional Scottish dances at a wedding, a ceilidh, or on Burns’ Night…if you have, you’ll know the feeling of exhilaration when dancing to upbeat, traditional Scottish music (especially when it’s live).
"Fun, fitness and friendship"
If you are completely new to SCD don’t be afraid! Dance locally at your nearest RSCDS Branch to get a taste of what it’s all about – no partner or commitment is necessary. Scottish Country Dance widens your social circle, as well as improving your health, fitness and wellbeing.
Once you’ve had a go you might like to come along to one of our annual events or one-off workshops. Perhaps you would like to take it further and perfect your skills by getting involved in one of our training courses.
We also offer some introductory steps & techniques to help you get started. If you are just beginning, or want to brush up on your technique, we encourage you to visit our learn section where you will find useful diagrams, videos and walk-throughs.
So, are you ready to learn how to 'Dance Scottish' and be part of an international community?
Bring some joy to your life and join us.
