Somerset Branch

Branch profile

"The Somerset Branch meet on Thursday evenings in The Village Hall, Long Sutton, Nr Langport, Somerset from 7.30-9.30pm, except on the third Thursday in the month when we meet at Long Sutton Orimary School (in term time).
We are a small Branch in Somerset with loads of enthusiasm for Scottish Country dancing. Our general class meets on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm – 9.30pm (in school term time) in Long Sutton Village Hall and School (TA10 9JS). You will be assured of a very warm welcome so come along and join us. All you need is a reasonable level of fitness and a willingness to learn and have fun.
We hold an annual Day School on the first Saturday in March each year for Dancers and Musicians. This is always very well attended and we have the wonderful opportunity to “dance to the musicians” in the evening. The teachers we invite (for both dancing and music courses) are very experienced RSCDS Qualified Teachers so we are assured of a great day. Lunch is provided as is an evening meal so everything is taken care of for our visitors.
We also hold an Annual Tea Dance on the first Saturday in July each year, which is great fun.
Our Branch teachers are a good team, ensuring we always promote the objectives of the RSCDS through excellent teaching but always ensuring we all enjoy ourselves whilst learning.
We encourage visitors and new members to come along to class. More information can found on our website www.rscdssomerset.org.uk or you can contact our Secretary at secretary@rscdssomerset.org.uk.
