Branch profile

The Norwich branch of the RSCDS was formed in 1956 as a result of exiled Scots and local people in the Norwich area wishing to further their experience and learning of what had been, up to then, the occasional Scottish Country dance evening to celebrate St Andrews’ night and similar events.
Currently we have 35 members and new members are always welcome (singles or couples). Our Monday evening classes are held each week from September through to mid-June. These are held at the Dance & Drama Studio, Sewell Park College, Constitution Hill, Norwich NR3 4BX. Click here for a map. Classes are divided into Autumn and Spring terms of about 14 weeks each. See rscdsclass for full details. There is ample parking available. Our next classes will start on 10 September 2018, after a summer break.
The branch has five experienced RSCDS-qualified instructors who cater for a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experienced dancers. In addition, we have a demonstration team available for displays and events in the region. We hold several social dances throughout the dancing year as well as a day workshop in November. See our Events page for more details.
If any new beginners are planning to join us please would they contact our Secretary Sue Petty on 01603 741639 or secretary@rscds-norwich.org.uk to let us know when they are coming. Why not come and give it a try! We are a very friendly group.
