Macclesfield Scottish Country Dance Group

Group profile

The Group was founded about 25 years ago. All of our classes are held in the Methodist Church Hall Main Road Langley Macclesfield SK11 0BU. We run classes between September in one year to the end of May in the next. Our adult class meets on Tuesday evenings and we have classes for children on Saturday mornings. In the Autumn Term we run a series of classes aimed at beginners and to those who have not danced for some time and who would like a gentle re-introduction.

The Group is represented at the White Rose Festival which takes place at Leeds in the middle of July and the children take part in The Young Persons Festival of Scottish Country Dancing in February.

We hold our annual ball in Macclesfield Town Hall on the middle Friday in March. The Group also gives demonstrations at Burns Suppers and local fêtes.
