Corriedon Scottish Country Dance Group

Group profile

The Corriedon Dance Group was established in the 1960s by Hector McKinnon and over the years has had many members. We currently have 40 members. Age range is 16 years upwards.
Dance Nights: We meet on most Monday nights from 7:30pm to 10:00pm. We begin with a warm up dance, then some well-known dances and some newer ones. Dances are walked through as many times as needed before we dance to the music. It’s a fun way to exercise and it’s not too energetic. Included in the membership fee of £3.00 per night is a tea/coffee break halfway through the evening. We meet at Stoneleigh Village Hall in Stoneleigh, close to Kenilworth, Coventry, Leamington Spa, Warwick and surrounding areas. Newcomers are welcome at any time. You don’t have to wear a kilt, you don’t need a partner but couples are welcome. All you need is a soft pair of flat shoes.
Term Time: First term begins in September each year and runs until Christmas when we have a short break. The second term begins the 2nd week of January until the end of June when we take a break for the Summer. On the last day of each term we have party night, where we all bring a plate of food to share and dance to favourite dances chosen by members.
We are a friendly group and welcome newcomers – so come along and have a go, first night is free!! If you are visiting the area and have danced before and would like to come along, please do.
