Andover Scottish Dancing Club

Group profile

More than thirty years ago, there was a Scottish Country Dancing evening class, run by the local authority, based in the John Hanson School. However, it was stipulated that the class would only operate if there was an average attendance of at least fourteen; and, there were occasions when the class was suspended because of this requirement. Several of those attending then were Methodists so, in 1983, we set up a Club at the Methodist Church in Bridge Street, Andover. The Club has always been inter-denominational, and also continues to include those with no church associations; at present, there are some 17 members on the books. We are a friendly Club, with a wide range of dancing ability that welcomes new member
